El objetivo principal de Moscú en Siria no es dar apoyo al presidente nacional, Bashar al Assad, sino la lucha contra el grupo terrorista del Estado Islámico, que representa una amenaza para toda la región y también para Rusia, ha declarado la representante oficial del Ministerio ruso de Relaciones Exteriores, María Zajárova.

Moscú no está apoyando al Gobierno de Al Assad, sino a toda Siria en su lucha contra el grupo terrorista el Estado Islámico, ha precisado la diplomática rusa citada por la agencia TASS. «Estamos tratando de evitar una catástrofe total en la región. Nuestro objetivo principal no es apoyar al régimen, a personas, sino al Estado sirio en su lucha contra el Estado Islámico y las organizaciones terroristas que ya representan una amenaza a la seguridad nacional de Rusia», ha aseverado la portavoz.
