… … AIPAC makes sure that its friends get strong financial support from the myriad pro-Israel PACs . Those seen as hostile to Israel, on the other hand, can be sure that AIPAC will direct campaign contributions to their political opponents.

He cites Forbes magazine that reported 25 – 30% of the wealthiest families here are Jewish despite the small percentage of Jews in the population overall. They include billionaires with enormous influence, and along with all others comprising the Jewish Lobby, have created a «tyranny of Israel over the US» with consequences grave enough to threaten world peace and stability, the global economy, and the very future of democracy in this country.

Relationship between Israel and the United States

Come to the gathering of University College
The moderator intervened: In the United States several university professors among them is James Petras, who criticize the power of the Jews in America. Perhaps we thought that the U.S. had good relations with Israel, as with other countries, but unfortunately not so much better. Clearly the existence of a powerful group of Jews, influencing American foreign policy from different perspectives. This is so they form a partnership known as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). AIPAC’s success is due to its ability to reward legislators and congressional candidates who support its agenda, and to punish those who challenge it. … AIPAC makes sure that its friends get strong financial support of the pro-Israel crowd Those who are seen as hostile to Israel, on the other hand, you can be sure that AIPAC will direct campaign contributions to his political opponents.

The influence of jewish lobby is broad and deep as much as to include officials in the highest levels of government, the business community, academics, clergy (especially the Christian fundamentalists dominant / Zionist Christians) and the media communication

Petras explains the root of the lobby’s power is in the high proportion of Jewish families are among the most wealthy and influential in the country. He cites Forbes magazine reported that 25 to 30% of the wealthiest families here are Jewish despite the small percentage of Jews in the general population. They include billionaires with enormous influence, and with all the other comprising the Jewish Lobby, have created a «tyranny of Israel over the U.S.» with consequences severe enough to threaten global peace and stability, the global economy and the future of democracy in this country

Unlike Washington’s relationship with the European Union (EU), Japan and Oceania, Israel is the press and get vast transfer of financial resources (2.8 billion dollars a year, 84 billion over 30 years). Israel transfers get the latest weapons and technology, unrestricted access to U.S. markets, free access of migrants, the commitment of unconditional U.S. support in case of war and repression of the [Palestinian] colonized, and the security of voting U.S. against any United Nations resolution

Spoke first: The US-Israel relations have been described in different ways. Politicians refer to Israel as the best U.S. ally in the Middle East, the best in the world. Others consider it a strategic ally. Some believe that Israel and the U.S. share common democratic values in the war against terrorism.

He interrupts the second; there are views for all tastes and others within the left who consider Israel a tool of American imperialism to undermine the Arab nationalism, a bulwark against the Islamic fundamentalist terrorism

Appears the third: a few writers point to the «excessive influence» that the Israeli government exercises in the policy of the American government through the powerful lobbies and personalities jews, as we see James Petras

Comes the fourth: Israel could not sustain its expansionist and aggressive policy without military aid and diplomatic support the United States. If the Obama administration would, could pressure Israel to observe the law and international resolutions, to join the international consensus and implement a two-state solution.

It appears the fifth: Israeli settlers in the U.S. have invested and donated billions of dollars to Israel, in some cases diverting funds from the contributions of labor unions to lower wages to buy Israel bonds used to finance new colonial settlements in the territories occupied

Involving the sixth, through networks abroad, the Israeli state can intervene directly and establish the parameters of U.S. foreign aid in the Middle East. Overseas networks play a major role in shaping the domestic debate over U.S. policy towards Israel.

Spoke on the seventh: despite his occasional criticisms of the excesses of Israel, the U.S. has not only been a staunch supporter of Israel, but has done so in the context of the bloody and prolonged repression and occupation of the Palestinian territories of which Washington is complicit. Israeli hegemony over the U.S. through its settlers is a formidable weapon to neutralize U.S. allies in NATO

Spoke eight: John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt, renowned professors from the universities of Chicago and Harvard, noted that: «We were able to assess the impact of the lobby (Jews) in recent U.S. policies, including where the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. Neoconservatives inside and outside the Bush Administration, like the leadership of prominent pro-Israel organizations, played a decisive role to justify the need to go to war. We believe that the United States had attacked Iraq without their efforts.

Spoke the ninth: The United States has learned to live with countries possessing nuclear weapons as China, India, Pakistan, Russia and North Korea. Iran is treated differently from others because it is not a threat to the United States, but because, as President Bush himself said, constitutes a threat to Israel … Iran has time and again sought better relations with Washington, and even assisted in the persecution of Al Qaeda after September 11. However, these approaches have been rejected Iranian largely because AIPAC and the neocons oppose any opening to Iran.
