Un grupo de mujeres kurdas está sembrando el miedo entre los milicianos del Estado Islámico (EI), que creen que irán al infierno si mueren a manos de una mujer. RT viaja a la frontera entre Irak y Siria para conocer a este batallón conocido como YPG.

La zona de la frontera entre Irak y Siria permanece actualmente bajo control de voluntarios kurdos después de que las fuerzas militares iraquíes y sirias abandonaran los cruces fronterizos. Las mujeres combatientes ocupan el puesto de observación en la frontera, lo que les permite controlar toda actividad del EI en Irak y Siria.

Rosarine, una de estas mujeres, confiesa que nunca había disparado un arma en su vida antes de que comenzara la guerra contra el Estado islámico. «La primera vez que disparé tenía miedo, pero mi amor por mi país era más grande que mi miedo», relata a RT. «El Estado Islámico pensaba que las mujeres no podían luchar contra ellos, pero aquí estamos. No tenemos miedo porque sabemos por qué estamos luchando», añade.

Esta joven de 19 años, que abandonó la escuela para unirse al YPG, dice que ahora abre fuego «cada vez que algo se mueve [en el lado del EI]».

Todas las mujeres combatientes del batallón son voluntarias que entran en combate bajo el lema del ‘Hava’ (la amistad). Rosarine sostiene que ella y sus «hermanas en armas» reciben pleno apoyo y todo el aliento de sus familias, ya que están luchando para proteger la tierra kurda y a su gente.

Dalil Derki, comandante de las mujeres combatientes kurdas, afirma que su unidad infunde terror a los milicianos del EI que -dice- «han tergiversado el Islam». «En su filosofía las mujeres no tienen un rol propio en la sociedad.
