En una entrevista concedida a CNN News, Ahmet Davutoglu, primer ministro de Turquía, insistió en que se establezca una zona de exclusión aérea en Siria, lo que requeriría que se ataquen las defensas antiaéreas del Ejército nacional, así como la creación de refugios en el interior del país para los posibles refugiados.

«Queremos tener una zona de exclusión aérea, queremos un refugio seguro en nuestra frontera», afirmó Davutoglu. «De lo contrario, todas estas cargas seguirán recayendo sobre los hombros de Turquía y otros países vecinos», añadió, en referencia a los 1,6 millones de refugiados sirios que, según el jefe del Ejecutivo turco, se encuentran ahora en su país.
