A esto se suma el incremento de la recaudación impositiva a base de un aumento del IVA y otros impuestos, que permitieron ingresos por 23.000 millones de euros. Recién el año pasado el Gobierno autorizó algunas rebajas.

No obstante, la deuda no detuvo su crecimiento y pasó de 69,5% a más de 100% del PIB.

La flexibilización laboral fue otro de los temas más cuestionados de la reforma impulsada por el BCE y pese a que la cantidad de desempleados descendió en casi un millón de personas, la tasa de desempleo en España aún duplica a la media europea. Las condiciones para cobrar el subsidio de desempleo también fueron ajustadas.
