Tras el último acuerdo con la UE y el FMI, que prevé destinar 10.300 millones de euros a las arcas griegas, Atenas subastará 71.000 bienes de propiedad pública en lo que será el mayor plan de privatización de Europa.

La extensa lista incluye hoteles y playas, islas y aeropuertos, ferrocarriles y campos de golf, así como sedes olímpicas, puertos, carreteras, propiedades históricas, entre otros bienes de propiedad pública. Se espera que el catálogo se amplíe en los próximos meses.

El director de la agencia de privatización griega encargada de deshacerse de estos bienes, Stergios Pitsiorlas, calcula que para 2018 la liquidación de activos puede reportar 6.000 millones de euros.
