En una serie de cartas a las que ha tenido acceso el diario francés ‘Le Figaro’, varios de los 376 franceses que actualmente combaten en Siria al lado del Estado Islámico expresan su deseo de regresar a casa y piden consejo a sus familiares sobre el modo de volver. Otros se han quejado de que, en lugar de participar en una noble batalla, sirven como burros de carga de los yihadistas.

……. «Básicamente no he hecho nada más que repartir ropa y comida», escribe uno de los jóvenes franceses, que quiere volver de Alepo. «También ayudo a limpiar las armas y a sacar cadáveres desde el frente. El invierno ya empezó aquí. Se está poniendo realmente complicado».

…… Otro de los desilusionados escribe: «Estoy harto. Me hacen lavar los platos«, mientras que otro de los mercenarios señaló que quería volver a casa porque le faltaban las comodidades de la vida en Francia: «Estoy harto. Mi iPod no funciona ya más aquí. Tengo que volver».

…….. El periódico francés señala que los comandantes islamistas se percataron del deseo de algunos franceses de desertar. Algunos rumores apuntan a que uno de ellos fue decapitado cuando explicó al emir que quería seguir los pasos de su amigo, que ya había regresado.

De los aproximadamente 100 yihadistas que han regresado a Francia, 76 se encuentran en prisión.
