En la rueda de prensa conjunta que Putin mantuvo con su homólogo francés, Francois Hollande, tras reunirse los dos líderes este jueves en Moscú, el presidente ruso condenó los numerosos atentados que sacuden el país árabe. Llamó a la comunidad internacional a «condenar» el atentado que se produjo la semana pasada cerca de la embajada rusa en Damasco. Subrayó, además, que París y Moscú están de acuerdo en que Siria debe mantenerse como un país único y no separarse.

Cabe recordar que la postura rusa hacia la crisis siria es que el conflicto debe resolverse sin intervención alguna desde el extranjero, por el propio pueblo sirio. El presidente ruso acentuó que Moscú no está apoyando a unos políticos concretos, sino que ampara a los gobiernos legítimos y lucha contra los extremistas
