Ninth apparition (February 25).

After some moment of prayer Bernardita rose to head near the Grotto, as she passed she moved the branches of the wild rose bush and kissed the earth under the rock, beyond the bush. She descended down the slope, and collected in herself, she again entered ecstasy. At the end of three dozen of the Rosary, Bernardita got up, she was uncertain; all hesitantly turned towards the Gave, and took forward two or three steps

Three-quarters of the slope he stood and turned around a look full of loss. He raised his head, as if asking the Lady; in short he resolutely crouched down and began to dig the earth. «While the Virgin was in prayer I ordered myself: go drink and wash your feet to the fountain, and eat the grass there. I looked around as I wasn’t looking at any source. He pointed me to the bottom of the grotto. Suddenly the bottom of that small cavity was moistened and coming from unknown depths through the rocks, a water appeared that I soon drank and used it to wash me

After the discovery of the new fountain, many approached the cavern and wet some rags in that water. The unforeseen source to scholars, had from the first day a jet of 120,000 liters every twenty-four hours and never dried

On February 26, the first miraculous cure occurred: the stonemason Bouriette was cured of an illness in the eyes by getting wet in the spring. As a sign of gratitude all the stonemasons spontaneously opened with their hands, shoes and peaks a street between the rocks, to reach the Grotto more comfortably.
