¿Cómo fue el presidente Chávez fuera de la política? ¿Cómo eran los enemigos del país? y ¿qué preocupaciones tenía? Estos son algunos de los temas tratados por el ex asesor del líder bolivariano, Juan Carlos Monedero, en una exclusiva con RT.

En primer lugar, Monedero se refirió a la guerra mediática contra el presidente Chávez como “última instancia” para llevar a cabo su “estigmatización”. “Intentaron acabar con el presidente de todas las maneras que se habían intentado en América Latina, a través de golpes de Estado, incapacitaciones, invalidaciones a través de una contra, con desabastecimiento, etc., pero todas habían sido inútiles en el caso de Venezuela”, explica.

Como ejemplo, Monedero menciona el caso en el que algunos medios españoles usaron la imagen de Chávez con un gorro mexicano y cantando una ranchera “como una forma de acercarse a ese público” para presentarlo “como si fuera un bufón” en vez de mostrar su verdadero intento de acercarse al pueblo para “recuperar a México para el continente latinoamericano” e integrarlo a la UNASUR.

El polítologo destaca que los medios han fracasado en su intento de dañar la imagen de Chávez, ya que hay millones de personas saliendo a las calles y gritando “¡Queremos ver a Chávez!”.

Según opina Monedero, el peor enemigo de América Latina siempre ha sido Estados Unidos, que considera “el único sitio donde no ha habido un golpe de Estado, porque allí no hay embajada estadounidense”.

Asimismo, explica que Chávez entendió que para luchar contra la invasión de EE.UU. de lo que consideraba su “patio trasero” se necesita una nueva unidad latinoamericana y “se puso en marcha” y entonces consiguió por un lado integrar al continente en una nueva lógica, que a su vez “sirvió para reequilibrar el mapa mundial rompiendo con la hegemonía norteamericana y obligando de alguna manera a frenar ese comportamiento heredado de la guerra fría donde el mundo se repartía en esferas de influencia”.

Creo que el presidente Chávez rompió el maleficio de los ‘Cien años de soledad’ de los que hablaba García Márquez.
