Un grupo de cient\u00edficos internacionales de diferentes instituciones, entre ellas el Centro Com\u00fan de Investigaci\u00f3n de la Comisi\u00f3n Europea, ha publicado<\/a>\u00a0un estudio \u00edntegro que advierte sobre las m\u00faltiples amenazas que se cernir\u00e1n sobre Europa en las pr\u00f3ximas d\u00e9cadas a causa del cambio clim\u00e1tico. Su motivo es advertir a los europeos sobre las zonas en las que muy pronto ser\u00e1 peligroso vivir.<\/span><\/p>\n

Europa est\u00e1 sufriendo las mayores p\u00e9rdidas de la historia debidas a los riesgos relacionados con el clima, y ser\u00e1 a\u00fan peor, ya que lo m\u00e1s probable es que \u00abel cambio clim\u00e1tico aumente los riesgos planteados por los fen\u00f3menos meteorol\u00f3gicos extremos\u00bb, reza el estudio.<\/span><\/p>\n

Se trata de olas de fr\u00edo y olas de calor, desbordamientos de r\u00edos e inundaciones en las costas mar\u00edtimas, sequ\u00edas, incendios forestales y tormentas de viento. El estudio examin\u00f3 estas siete amenazas clim\u00e1ticas y calcul\u00f3 tanto los riesgos particulares para diferentes partes de Europa como las regiones que sufrir\u00e1n a causa de m\u00faltiples fen\u00f3menos clim\u00e1ticos extremos en el transcurso de este siglo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los investigadores concluyen que toda Europa sufrir\u00e1 un \u00abaumento fuerte y progresivo\u00bb de las amenazas clim\u00e1ticas, que se intensificar\u00e1n gradualmente desde el norte hac\u00eda el suroeste europeo, que sufrir\u00e1 ante todo por el aumento de las olas de calor, las sequ\u00edas y los incendios forestales.<\/span><\/p>\n

Particularmente peligrosas ser\u00e1n las costas y llanuras inundables de Europa occidental y meridional, Espa\u00f1a incluida. Estas \u00e1reas suelen ser las m\u00e1s pobladas e importantes econ\u00f3micamente, por lo que las inundaciones y tormentas, combinadas con otras amenazas clim\u00e1ticas, pueden tener consecuencias cr\u00edticas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Otro problema es que los desastres naturales ser\u00e1n m\u00e1s peligrosos porque ser\u00e1n m\u00e1s frecuentes. As\u00ed, de acuerdo con el estudio, en el sur de Europa para 2080 podr\u00e1n ocurrir anualmente desastres que ahora se dan con muy escasa frecuencia, por ejemplo, olas de calor tan fuertes solo suceden una vez cada cien a\u00f1os o, dicho de otra forma, que solo tienen un 1% de probabilidades de que sucedan en un a\u00f1o.<\/span><\/p>\n

A group of international scientists from different institutions, including the Joint Centre for research of the European Commission, has published a complete study that warns of the multiple threats that they hover over Europe in the coming decades because of climate change. Their motive is to inform Europeans about the areas in which very soon will be dangerous to live.<\/span><\/p>\n

Particularly dangerous are the coasts and flood plains of Western and southern Europe, including Spain. These areas tend to be the most populated and important economically, so it floods and storms, combined with other weather threats, can have critical consequences.<\/span><\/p>\n
