De acuerdo con el\u00a0Fondo para la Defensa del Medio Ambiente\u00a0de EE.UU. (el\u00a0EDF, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), el metano incoloro e inodoro se est\u00e1 filtrando de los pozos y tanques en cientos de instalaciones por todo el pa\u00eds. En su nuevo estudio publicado en el portal cient\u00edfico ‘Environmental Science and Technology’,<\/a> los investigadores utilizaron c\u00e1maras infrarrojas para explorar si hab\u00eda fugas de metano en m\u00e1s de 8.000 lugares en el pa\u00eds.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Fund for the defense of the environment of U.S. (EDF, for its acronym in English), the colorless and odorless methane is leaking from wells and tanks in hundreds of installations throughout the country. In their new study published in the science portal ‘Environmental Science and Technology’, the researchers used infrared cameras to explore if there was leakage of methane at over 8,000 locations in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abThe study confirms that the emissions are highly unpredictable, and that these leaks can occur anywhere, at any time, in large facilities and in small,\u00bb explained Matt Watson, Vice President, associated to the climate and energy program of the EDF, the digital newspaper.<\/span><\/p>\n
