Tras la desintegraci\u00f3n de la Uni\u00f3n Sovi\u00e9tica, gran parte de la poblaci\u00f3n crey\u00f3 que el capitalismo hab\u00eda triunfado por completo. Sin embargo, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os el sistema econ\u00f3mico afronta numerosas conmociones econ\u00f3micas y sociales.\u00a0En Occidente se reduce la clase media, aumenta de forma alarmante el paro, y el ‘estado de bienestar’, considerado como el mayor logro del capitalismo de postguerra,\u00a0se convierte en algo del pasado<\/a><\/strong>. Por otra parte, en Oriente la explotaci\u00f3n de trabajadores adquiri\u00f3 los niveles del cruel siglo XIX.<\/span><\/p>\n

La mayor interrogaci\u00f3n para Collins es qu\u00e9 sistema ocupar\u00e1 su lugar: \u00bfuna dictadura fascista o un sistema democr\u00e1tico no capitalista? Pero lo m\u00e1s probable seg\u00fan el experto es que\u00a0\u00aben los pr\u00f3ximos siglos tendr\u00e1 lugar un\u00a0constante cambio entre dos sistemas: del capitalismo al socialismo, y a lo mejor, otra vez al capitalismo<\/strong>\u00ab.<\/span><\/p>\n
