El \u00c1frica subsahariana ha dado pasos enormes en la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada. Las muertes por paludismo en algunos de los pa\u00edses m\u00e1s afectados se han reducido en un 30% y las infecciones por VIH hasta en un 74%. La esperanza de vida en \u00c1frica ha aumentado en un 10% y las tasas de mortalidad infantil en la mayor\u00eda de los pa\u00edses africanos han estado cayendo abruptamente. Una econom\u00eda en auge ha hecho una gran diferencia. El ingreso real por persona se ha incrementado en m\u00e1s de un 30%, mientras que en los \u00faltimos 20 a\u00f1os se redujo en casi un 10%. \u00c1frica es el mundo de m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido crecimiento en el continente momento. Durante la pr\u00f3xima d\u00e9cada su PIB se espera que aumente en un promedio de 6% al a\u00f1o, en parte gracias a la inversi\u00f3n extranjera directa. La IED ha pasado de $ 15 mil millones en 2002 a $ 37 mil millones en 2006 y $ 46 mil millones en 2012. Pero \u00c1frica ha experimentado auges antes, s\u00f3lo para un aterrizaje forzoso. La violencia, la corrupci\u00f3n y el mal gobierno siguen siendo comunes. \u00bfEstamos viendo un falso amanecer una vez m\u00e1s<\/span><\/p>\n

Sub-Saharan Africa has made huge leaps in the last decade. Malaria deaths in some of the worst-affected countries have declined by 30% and HIV infections by up to 74%. Life expectancy across Africa has increased by about 10% and child mortality rates in most African countries have been falling steeply. A booming economy has made a big difference. Real income per person has increased by more than 30%, whereas in the previous 20 years it shrank by nearly 10%. Africa is the world’s fastest-growing continent at the moment. Over the next decade its GDP is expected to rise by an average of 6% a year, not least thanks to foreign direct investment. FDI has gone from $15 billion in 2002 to $37 billion in 2006 and $46 billion in 2012. But Africa has seen booms before, only to crash-land. Violence, corruption and bad governance are still common. Are we seeing a false dawn once again?<\/span><\/p>\n
