\u00abLas multinacionales solo invierten si tienen confianza en el crecimiento de la demanda<\/strong> de un pa\u00eds o regi\u00f3n. No es lo que est\u00e1 pasando en Europa. El programa de austeridad que se lleva adelante en gran parte de los pa\u00edses de la Uni\u00f3n Europea est\u00e1 generando una fuerte ca\u00edda del nivel de vida que se refleja en el consumo\u00bb, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 Tilford.<\/span><\/p>\n

M\u00e1s de 40 gobernantes se re\u00fanen en Santiago, Chile, este fin de semana en la s\u00e9ptima Cumbre de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y del Caribe (CELAC) y la Uni\u00f3n Europea (UE), que se realiza cada dos a\u00f1os.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

En encuentro se produce en un momento en el que Am\u00e9rica Latina goza de una periodo de estabilidad<\/strong> y prosperidad econ\u00f3mica sin precedentes.<\/span><\/p>\n

La relaci\u00f3n de fuerzas entre Latinoam\u00e9rica y la EU al parecer se ha invertido. Por estos d\u00edas, son los europeos los que sufren medidas de austeridad, desempleo y una crisis de deuda intratable.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Las econom\u00edas latinoamericanas y del Caribe crecieron 3,1% el<\/strong> a\u00f1o pasado, sobrepasando c\u00f3modamente la expansi\u00f3n global del 2,2%. En Panam\u00e1, el crecimiento fue de 10,5% y en Per\u00fa de 6,2% y en Chile de 5,5%.<\/span><\/p>\n

Para ver la diferencia con Europa, basta comparar estas cifras con la expansi\u00f3n de la eurozona, que fue de 0,5% en 2012.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Y no es algo nuevo. En cada uno de los pasados ocho a\u00f1os, el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico de Am\u00e9rica Latina ha superado al europeo y volver\u00e1 a hacerlo en 2013.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

La Comisi\u00f3n Econ\u00f3mica para Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) predice que la econom\u00eda de la regi\u00f3n crecer\u00e1 4% este a\u00f1o<\/strong>, mientras que la eurozona se expandir\u00e1 s\u00f3lo 0,3%.<\/span><\/p>\n

Con todo, la UE sigue siendo el mayor inversoe en Am\u00e9rica Latina<\/strong>; representa el 43% del total de inversiones extranjeras directas en la regi\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n

La UE invierte m\u00e1s en Latinoam\u00e9rica que en China, India y Rusia juntos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Este a\u00f1o promete ser un hito en las relaciones comerciales entre Am\u00e9rica Latina y Europa. Colombia, Per\u00fa y Centroam\u00e9rica tienen en negocian acuerdos de libre comercio con la UE y es probable que completen el proceso antes de fin de a\u00f1o.<\/span><\/p>\n

Economist Simon Tilford, head of the Centre for European Reform of United Kingdom, commented to the BBC that the underlying problem is the lack of growth and demand in the European market.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abThe multinationals only invest if they have confidence in the growth of the demand of a country or region. It is not what is happening in Europe. The austerity program being conducted in most of the countries of the European Union is generating a strong fall in the standard of living is reflected in consumption\u00bb, added Tilford.<\/span><\/p>\n

More than 40 Governors gather in Santiago, Chile, this weekend at the seventh Summit of the community of Latin American and the Caribbean (CELAC) and the European Union (EU), which is held every two years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The relationship of forces between Latin America and the US has apparently reversed. These days, Europeans suffer austerity, unemployment and an intractable debt crisis measures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Latin American and the Caribbean economies grew 3.1 percent last year, comfortably exceeding the global expansion of 2.2%. In Panama, the growth was 10.5% and 6.2% Peru and Chile from 5.5%.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL) predicts that the region’s economy will grow 4 percent this year, while the eurozone will expand only 0.3%.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the EU remains the largest inversoe in Latin America; represents 43% of the total of foreign direct investment in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

The EU invests more in Latin America than in China, India and Russia together.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year promises to be a milestone in trade relations between Latin America and Europe. Colombia, Peru and Central America have in they negotiate free trade agreements with the EU and are likely to complete the process before year’s end.<\/span><\/p>\n
