El copoaz\u00fa (Theobroma grandiflorum) es una especie que produce su cosecha entre los meses de Junio y Septiembre. Es interesante ver como esta fruta tambi\u00e9n se encuentra en Colombia, Brasil, Per\u00fa y Ecuador<\/strong>, como siempre Venezuela esta tarde en todo esto. Es una especie que la puedes sembrar dentro del bosque<\/strong> por que al igual que el cacao necesita sombra para crecer as\u00ed que es innecesario deforestar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahora el copoaz\u00fa a diferencia del cacao presenta m\u00e1s pulpa<\/strong> que semilla, en una relaci\u00f3n de 2 a 1, as\u00ed que se puede aprovechar la pulpa, cosa que no es posible con el cacao por que es muy escasa. Ya en Puerto Ayacucho se ofrece el jugo de copoaz\u00fa. La pulpa tambi\u00e9n es utilizada para mermeladas de buena textura y la semilla se usa para hacer chocolate<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

La pulpa del copoaz\u00fa es de color blanco, con altos contenidos de f\u00f3sforo, pectina y contenidos medios de Calcio y vitamina C<\/strong>. Se utiliza en la elaboraci\u00f3n de jugos, n\u00e9ctares, mermeladas, compotas, gelatinas y dulces. Del fruto tambi\u00e9n se aprovecha su semilla, que contiene porcentajes altos de prote\u00edna y grasa, para la preparaci\u00f3n de cupulate<\/em>, un producto con caracter\u00edsticas similares al chocolate.<\/span><\/p>\n
