La gran pregunta que se debe hacer Espa\u00f1a y la eurozona es si el pa\u00eds ib\u00e9rico es una versi\u00f3n gigante de Irlanda<\/strong>, pa\u00eds que nacionaliz\u00f3 sus bancos para tapar su agujero financiero con dinero de los contribuyentes<\/span><\/p>\n

Pues bien, para comenzar hay que se\u00f1alar que el Banco de Espa\u00f1a<\/strong> ha estimado en su \u00faltimo Informe sobre la Estabilidad Financiera que los bancos espa\u00f1oles poseen cr\u00e9ditos inmobiliarios y de la construcci\u00f3n \u00abproblem\u00e1ticos\u00bb por valor de US$234.000 millones, equivalentes a m\u00e1s del 17% del PIB espa\u00f1ol<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Esos cr\u00e9ditos son la herencia envenenada de un boom<\/em> constructor e inmobiliario<\/strong> por el que se edificaron cinco millones de casas nuevas entre 1997 y 2007, el doble del aumento de hogares en Espa\u00f1a en ese per\u00edodo.<\/span><\/p>\n

As\u00ed que algunos banqueros creen que ser\u00eda mejor que Espa\u00f1a opte por pedirle al FMI fondos de emergencia<\/strong> que podr\u00edan ir directamente a los bancos, y por tanto no figurar\u00edan como un pr\u00e9stamo al gobierno.<\/span><\/p>\n
