Yakarta, 16 de abril de 2012). Campesinas y campesinos y sus aliados celebrar\u00e1n, ma\u00f1ana 17 de abril, el D\u00eda Internacional de las Luchas Campesinas<\/strong> con la organizaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 250 acciones manifestaciones en todo el planeta.
\nEste evento conmemora la masacre de 19 campesinos sin tierra que reclamaban el acceso a tierras justicia en 1996 en Brasil.<\/span><\/p>\n

El movimiento campesino internacional La V\u00eda Campesina se moviliza este a\u00f1o para oponerse a la actual ofensiva de algunos estados y grandes empresas multinacionales para acaparar tierras q<\/strong>ue las campesinas y los campesinos han estado cultivando durante cientos de a\u00f1os.<\/span><\/p>\n

La demanda de las campesinas y los campesinos es simple: necesitan acceder a la tierra para producir el alimento de sus comunidades. Cuando la tierra es usurpada por las multinacionales, se desarrollan inmensos monocultivos para la exportaci\u00f3n<\/strong>. Esto solo lleva a incrementar el hambre, el malestar social y la devastaci\u00f3n medioambiental, incluido el actual caos clim\u00e1tico<\/span><\/p>\n

Ma\u00f1ana, organizaciones campesinas reclamar\u00e1n tierra en todo el pa\u00eds en Brasil,<\/strong> organizar\u00e1n movilizaciones masivas contra el acaparamiento de tierras en Tete (Mozambique), y frente al Tribunal Constitucional en Yakarta (Indonesia) y sembrar\u00e1n flores y plantas silvestres en una rotonda de la Breta\u00f1a francesa.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nEste d\u00eda de acci\u00f3n tendr\u00e1 lugar unos d\u00edas antes de la Conferencia del Banco Mundial sobre Tierra y Pobreza (<\/strong>en Washington del 23 al 26 de abril). Las movilizaciones de La V\u00eda Campesina dar\u00e1n voz a la oposici\u00f3n de las campesinas y los campesinas contra la iniciativa del Banco Mundial de Inversi\u00f3n<\/strong> Agr\u00edcola Responsable (RAI, en sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) que supuestamente prevendr\u00e1 los abusos del acaparamiento de tierras, pero que en realidad legitimizar\u00e1 el acaparamiento de tierras de cultivo por empresas y estados inversores.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\nThis event commemorates the slaughter of 19 landless peasants demanding land access to justice in 1996 in Brazil.<\/span><\/p>\n

The international peasant movement Via Campesina mobilized this year to oppose the current offensive in some states and multinational corporations to buy up land and peasant farmers have been growing for hundreds of years.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nDemand for small-scale farmers is simple: they need access to land to produce food for their communities. When land is usurped by multinationals, develop vast monocultures for export. This only leads to increased hunger, social unrest and environmental devastation, including the current climate chaos<\/span><\/p>\n

Tomorrow, land claim farmers’ organizations throughout the country in Brazil, organized mass demonstrations against land grabbing in Tete (Mozambique), and opposite the Constitutional Court in Jakarta (Indonesia) and planted flowers and plants in a round of Brittany .<\/span><\/p>\n

This day of action will take place a few days before the World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty (in Washington from 23 to 26 April). The mobilization of La Via Campesina will give voice to the opposition of the peasants against the World Bank initiative Responsible Agricultural Investment (RAI, its acronym in English) that supposedly prevent abuse of land grabbing, but actually legitimize grabbing of farmland by investors companies and states.<\/span><\/p>\n
