Brentano went to her sickbed in D\u00fclmen for five years to write his visions at dictation, which he published after the nun died,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8230;&#8230;..<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">From 1819 until Anne Catherine&#8217;s death in 1824, Brentano recorded visions of him, filling forty volumes with detailed scenes and passages from the New Testament and the life of the Virgin Mary. The details were captured with great vividness, as they hold the reader&#8217;s interest as a graphic scene that follows one another in rapid succession, as if visible to the naked eye. Brentano briefly wrote down the main points<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8211;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8212;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">After 1824, Brentano had his writings prepared for publication and in 1833 he published his first volume, The Sorrowful Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, according to the visions of Anne Catherine Emmerick. Brentano then prepared for publication the Life of the Blessed Virgin Mary according to Emmerick&#8217;s visions, but he died in 1842.
