Joy in pain was the hallmark of Teresa&#8217;s patience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">To suffer from it, one must feel sadness and bitterness, discouragement and one&#8217;s own impotence. In the acceptance of all these feelings the virtue of patience is exercised.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00abIf you want to feel the attraction of suffering, the joy in pain, look only for your own comfort, because when you love something, the pain disappears\u00bb.
