Around this time, Francisco and Jacinta asked for and got,<\/span>
\nas I already told V. Excia. Your Reverend, permission of your parents to<\/span>

\nThat property is called \u201cChousa Velha\u201d. around mid morning<\/span>

\nthe foot of the mountain followed by our sheep, looking for a<\/span>

\nThen, getting up, he said:<\/span><\/p>\n

Pray like this. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive<\/span>
\nto the voice of your supplications.<\/span>
\nHis words were engraved in such a way in our minds,<\/span>
\nthat we never forgot. And, since then, we spent long<\/span>
\ntimes like this, prostrate, repeating them many times, until they fall tired.<\/span>
\nSo, I recommended to them that it was necessary to remain silent,<\/span>
\nand this time, thank God, they listened to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

After a long time (12), on a summer day, when we had<\/span>
\ngone home for nap time, we played next door<\/span>
\nfrom a well that my father had in the orchard, which we called<\/span>
\n\u00abArneiro’, (in writing about Jacinta, I also already spoke to V. Excia.<\/span>
\nfrom this well). Suddenly we saw next to us the same figure o<\/span>
\nAngel, as I think he was, and said:<\/span>

\nand sacrifices.<\/span>

\n\u2013 How are we to sacrifice ourselves? – asked.<\/span>
\n\u2013 In all that you can, offer to God a sacrifice as an act<\/span>
\nof reparation for the sins with which He is offended and as a supplication<\/span>
\nfor the conversion of sinners. Draw thus upon your<\/span>
\nHomeland peace. I am his Guardian Angel, the Angel of Portugal.<\/span>
\nAbove all, accept and bear, with submission, the suffering that<\/span>
\nthe Lord send you.<\/span>

Quite a while passed and we went to graze our flocks<\/span>
\nto a property of my parents, which is in the skirt of the aforementioned<\/span>
\nmount, a little higher than the Valinhos. It is an olive grove<\/span>
\nthat we called \u00abPregueira\u00bb. After having a snack we agreed<\/span>
\ngo to pray in the grotto that is on the other side of the mountain; for the<\/span>
\nwhich, we went around the slope and had to climb a rocky area<\/span>
\nwhich is at the top of the \u00abPregueira\u00bb. the sheep got<\/span>
\ngo through a lot of difficulties.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAfter we arrived, on our knees, with our faces to the ground,<\/span>
\nWe began to repeat the Angel’s prayer: My God! I think,<\/span>
\nI adore, I hope and I love you, etc. I don’t know how many times we had repeated<\/span>
\nthis prayer, when we saw that above us was shining a<\/span>
\nunknown light. We got up to see what was happening and we saw<\/span>
\nto the Angel (13), who had in his left hand a Chalice, on which<\/span>
\na Host was suspended, from which a few drops of Blood fell<\/span>
\ninside the Chalice. In Angel he left the Chalice suspended in the air,<\/span>
\nhe knelt next to us, and made us repeat three times.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Holy Trinity, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, I offer you the<\/span>
\nmost precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord<\/span>
\nJesus Christ, present in all the Tabernacles of the earth, in reparation<\/span>
\nof the outrages, sacrilege and indifference with which He Himself is<\/span>
\ninsulted. And by the infinite merits of the Most Holy Heart of him and of the<\/span>
\nImmaculate Heart of Mary, I ask you for the conversion of the poor<\/span>
\nsinners.<\/span>

Then he gets up, takes the Chalice and the Host in his hands.<\/span>
\nHe gives the Sacred Host to me and the Blood from the Chalice divides it between<\/span>
\nJacinta and Francisco (14), saying at the same time:<\/span>
\n\u2013 Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly<\/span>
\noutraged by ungrateful men. make amends for their crimes<\/span>
\nand comfort your God.<\/span>
\n………….<\/span><\/p>\n

And, prostrating himself on the ground again, he repeated with us other<\/span>
\nthree times the same prayer: \u00abHoly Trinity… etc.\u00bb, and disappeared.<\/span>
\nWe remained in the same attitude, repeating<\/span>
