VATICANO, 20 Nov. 14 \/ 10:39 am (ACI\/EWTN Noticias<\/strong><\/a>).- En su intervenci\u00f3n esta ma\u00f1ana en la sede de la FAO en Roma, el Papa Francisco asegur\u00f3 que el hambriento, a quien los estados deben prestar siempre atenci\u00f3n, \u201cnos pide dignidad, no limosna\u201d.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMientras se habla de nuevos derechos, el hambriento est\u00e1 ah\u00ed, en la esquina de la calle, y pide carta de ciudadan\u00eda, ser considerado en su condici\u00f3n, recibir una alimentaci\u00f3n de base sana. Nos pide dignidad, no limosna\u201d, dijo el Papa ante los aplausos de los presentes en la Sala de la Plenaria de la FAO.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Santo Padre particip\u00f3 esta ma\u00f1ana en la II Conferencia Internacional sobre nutrici\u00f3n de la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentaci\u00f3n y la Agricultura, conocida como FAO, que se celebra en Roma desde el mi\u00e9rcoles y finalizar\u00e1 este viernes.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Papa explic\u00f3 la labor de la Iglesia<\/a> en materia de nutrici\u00f3n y destac\u00f3 que \u201csiempre trata de estar atenta y sol\u00edcita respecto a todo lo que se refiere al bienestar espiritual y material de las personas, ante todo, de los que viven marginados y son excluidos, para que se garanticen su seguridad y su dignidad<\/strong>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cVivimos en una \u00e9poca en la que las relaciones entre las naciones est\u00e1n demasiado a menudo da\u00f1adas por la sospecha rec\u00edproca, que a veces se convierte en formas de agresi\u00f3n b\u00e9lica y econ\u00f3mica, socava la amistad entre hermanos y rechaza o descarta al que ya est\u00e1 excluido\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Esto \u201clo sabe bien quien carece del pan cotidiano y de un trabajo decente<\/strong>. Este es el cuadro del mundo, en el que se han de reconocer los l\u00edmites de planteamientos basados en la soberan\u00eda de cada uno de los Estados, entendida como absoluta, y en los intereses nacionales, condicionados frecuentemente por reducidos grupos de poder\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

A continuaci\u00f3n el Santo Padre expres\u00f3 su esperanza de que \u201clos Estados se inspiren en la convicci\u00f3n de que el derecho a la alimentaci\u00f3n s\u00f3lo quedar\u00e1 garantizado si nos preocupamos por su sujeto real, es decir, la persona que sufre los efectos del hambre y la desnutrici\u00f3n\u201d para remarcar despu\u00e9s \u00a0de nuevo la preocupaci\u00f3n del \u201csujeto real\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTal vez nos hemos preocupado demasiado poco de los que pasan hambre. Duele constatar adem\u00e1s que la lucha contra el hambre y la desnutrici\u00f3n se ve obstaculizada por la \u2018prioridad del mercado\u2019 y por la \u2018preminencia de la ganancia\u2019, que han reducido los alimentos a una mercanc\u00eda cualquiera, sujeta a especulaci\u00f3n, incluso financiera\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Pont\u00edfice lleg\u00f3 a la sede de la FAO a las 11 horas y pronunci\u00f3 su discurso despu\u00e9s de la intervenci\u00f3n de la Reina Letizia de Espa\u00f1a.<\/span><\/p>\n

La FAO tiene como objetivo proponer y desarrollar medidas y actividades internacionales que erradiquen el hambre. En este Conferencia han participado jefes de Gobierno y de Estado de todo el mundo, as\u00ed como expertos en materia de alimentaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Holy Father participated this morning in the second International Conference on nutrition of the United Nations Organization for food and agriculture, known as FAO, which is held in Rome from Wednesday and will end this Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pope explained the work of the Church in matters of nutrition and stressed that \u00abalways try to be attentive and solicitous with respect to everything what refers to spiritual well-being and material of people, first of all, who live marginalized and are excluded, so to ensure their safety and dignity\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abWe live in an age in which relations among Nations are often damaged by mutual suspicion, which sometimes develops in forms of military and economic assault, undermines the friendship between brothers and rejects or discard that is already excluded.\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

This \u00abknows it well who lacks the daily bread and a decent job. This is the picture of the world, which should recognize the limits of approaches based on the sovereignty of each of the States, understood as absolute, and national interests, often conditioned by small groups of power.\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

Then the Holy Father expressed his hope that \u00abStates is inspired by the conviction that the right to food will only be guaranteed if we care about its real subject, i.e., the person who suffers the effects of hunger and malnutrition\u00bb to redial then again the concern of the \u00abreal subject\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n
