El violento levantamiento de la milicia Estado Isl\u00e1mico de Irak y el Levante (EIIL) ha sumido a Irak en una nueva situaci\u00f3n de guerra que amenaza a toda la regi\u00f3n. Se cree que la milicia del Estado Isl\u00e1mico de Irak y el Levante que opera en Irak y Siria controla 2.000 millones de d\u00f3lares y se compone de 10.000 combatientes<\/strong>, lo que permite a este grupo combatir exitosamente contra el Ej\u00e9rcito iraqu\u00ed y as\u00ed intentar controlar una regi\u00f3n que se extiende desde la ciudad de Alepo en Siria, hasta las ciudades de Faluya, Mosul y Tal Afar en Irak.<\/span><\/p>\n

El EIIL se form\u00f3 como una rama de Al Qaeda en Irak liderada por Abu Bakr al Baghdadi<\/strong>. Entonces se llamaba Estado Isl\u00e1mico de Irak (EII) y no actuaba directamente en Siria. A mediados de 2011 uno de sus miembros, Abu Mohamad Al-Golani, fund\u00f3 el Frente al-Nusra<\/strong>, que pas\u00f3 a ser el principal actor yihadista de la guerra civil en Siria, obteniendo en particular los recursos del EII.<\/span><\/p>\n
