Un estudio reciente de un grupo de cient\u00edficos australianos revel\u00f3 que los productos transg\u00e9nicos afectan de forma severa las entra\u00f1as y las funciones reproductivas en los animales que los consumen<\/strong>.

Se trata del primer estudio que establece una\u00a0conexi\u00f3n\u00a0directa entre el consumo de transg\u00e9nicos<\/span><\/a> y da\u00f1os estomacales de los animale<\/strong>s, y sus resultados validan otro experimento a cargo de cient\u00edficos franceses<\/span><\/a> sobre los efectos en ratas alimentadas con ma\u00edz OGM<\/strong>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Durante los cinco meses que dur\u00f3 el estudio los cient\u00edficos del Instituto del Instituto de Salud y Medioambiente de Australia\u00a0alimentaron<\/span><\/a> a un grupo de cerdos con una mezcla de\u00a0ma\u00edz trang\u00e9nico<\/span><\/a> de\u00a0Monsanto<\/span><\/a> y ‘Roundup Ready’ soja de Monsanto<\/strong>. La selecci\u00f3n de esta mezcla se debe a que es una de las m\u00e1s populares que se utiliza en la ganader\u00eda. Otro conjunto de cerdos, el grupo de control, fue alimentado con productos naturales.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los resultados del estudio llamaron la atenci\u00f3n de los cient\u00edficos, ya que los cerdos alimentados con transg\u00e9nicos acabaron presentando un \u00fatero un 25% m\u00e1s pesado y mostraban una tasa de inflamaci\u00f3n estomacal dos veces m\u00e1s alta<\/strong>. Entre las posibles patolog\u00edas se registraron hiperplasia endometrial, endometritis, endometriosis, adenomiosis, engrosamiento de la miometrio y p\u00f3lipos.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abLos cerdos alimentados con transg\u00e9nicos corr\u00edan un riesgo inflamaci\u00f3n estomacal 2,6 veces mayor que el de los cerdos del grupo de control<\/strong>. Los varones resultaron m\u00e1s seriamente afectados. Las hembras resultaron ser 2,2 veces m\u00e1s propensas a la inflamaci\u00f3n estomacal, mientras que los varones lo fueron cuatro veces m\u00e1s\u00bb, explica Judy Carman, la jefa del estudio, subrayando que el estudio, el primero que abarca un periodo tan prolongado, tiene una gran importancia estad\u00edstica y biol\u00f3gica.<\/span><\/p>\n
