La Cruzada Nacional contra el Hambre, programa insignia del gobierno, no tiene nada que ver con terminar el hambre<\/strong>, ni atender o modificar sus causas, pero s\u00ed tiene mucho de cruzada. Ahora los \u00abinfieles\u00bb son indios y campesinos que cometen el pecado de tener cultura propia, de ejercer y defender sus propias formas de organizaci\u00f3n, de producci\u00f3n, de vida, de lucha. A ellos hay que convertirlos a la fuerza a la \u00abmodernidad\u00bb: comida chatarra, refrescos embotellados, y si insisten en que en lugar de limosnas quieren seguir cultivando, que sean transg\u00e9nicos<\/strong>. Todo sazonado con la creaci\u00f3n de \u00abconsejos comunitarios\u00bb y apoyos selectivos, para asegurar votos y promover el enfrentamiento dentro y entre comunidades.<\/span><\/p>\n

Es paradigm\u00e1tica la incorporaci\u00f3n de las trasnacionales de comida basura Nestl\u00e9 y PepsiCo a esa Cruzada. Ocupan el primero y segundo lugar como las trasnacionales m\u00e1s grandes del planeta en procesamiento de alimentos y bebidas, ambas ampliamente conocidas por dar al mundo abundantes fuentes de desnutrici\u00f3n, obesidad, diabetes y, en general, promover los malos h\u00e1bitos alimentarios, generando una enorme carga de gastos p\u00fablicos en salud<\/strong>. Nestl\u00e9 ha sido por m\u00e1s de dos d\u00e9cadas el blanco de un boicoteo internacional en numerosos pa\u00edses, por su agresiva promoci\u00f3n de sustitutos de leche materna, provocando mayor desnutrici\u00f3n y colaborando en aumentar la mortalidad infantil,<\/strong> sobre todo en los pa\u00edses m\u00e1s pobres.
