El papa Francisco desbloque\u00f3 el proceso de beatificaci\u00f3n del asesinado arzobispo de San Salvador \u00d3scar Arnulfo Romer<\/strong>o, conocido como monse\u00f1or Romero, que estaba estancado desde hac\u00eda a\u00f1os, indicaron el lunes fuentes del Vaticano.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monse\u00f1or Romero, muy popular en Am\u00e9rica Latina y llamado ‘la voz de los sin voz’ por su dedicaci\u00f3n a los m\u00e1s desfavorecidos, fue asesinado el 24 de marzo de 1980 por un comando de ultraderecha, al comienzo de la guerra civil de\u00a0El Salvador<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

El arzobispo italiano Vincenzo Paglia, presidente del Consejo Pontificio para la Familia, anunci\u00f3 el domingo la noticia en Molfetta, en la regi\u00f3n de Apulia (sur): \u00bb La causa de la beatificaci\u00f3n de monse\u00f1or Romero ha sido desbloqueada\u00bb, dijo.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Desde 1996 la causa para canonizar a Romero se encuentra en Roma, y en 2006 la Congregaci\u00f3n de la Doctrina de la Fe acord\u00f3 iniciar el proceso de beatificaci\u00f3n<\/strong>. El expediente se encuentra en la actualidad en manos de la Congregaci\u00f3n para la causa de los Santos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Por denunciar la injusticia social y la represi\u00f3n militar, Romero fue asesinado por un francotirador<\/strong> contratado por la ultraderecha cuando oficiaba misa en un hospital de enfermos de c\u00e1ncer de San Salvador.<\/span><\/p>\n
