Mat\u00edas Mayor, catedr\u00e1tico de Bot\u00e1nica en la Universidad de Oviedo, destac\u00f3 ayer la necesidad de \u00abbuscar mecanismos de mantenimiento de los pastos de monta\u00f1a\u00bb<\/strong> en Asturias y alert\u00f3 de que en estos momentos \u00abel pastoreo est\u00e1 condenado a desaparecer\u00bb. Mayor imparti\u00f3 ayer la charla \u00abLos pastizales de alta monta\u00f1a en Asturias. Usos hist\u00f3ricos y posibilidades de futuro\u00bb dentro del curso de verano titulado \u00abPasado, presente y futuro del espacio rural asturiano\u00bb,<\/span><\/p>\n

Mat\u00edas Mayor comenz\u00f3 su charla destacando que \u00abtoda la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica est\u00e1 influida por la mediterraneidad\u00bb.<\/strong> Tras esto narr\u00f3 el pasado hist\u00f3rico de los pastizales de alta monta\u00f1a relacion\u00e1ndolo con la sequedad estival. El catedr\u00e1tico afirm\u00f3 que \u00abel auge del pastoreo tuvo lugar en el siglo VI en Espa\u00f1a, cuando entr\u00f3 la raza de ovejas conocida como merina<\/strong>\u00bb y a\u00f1adi\u00f3 que \u00abla lana de estas ovejas, de excelente calidad, pronto comenz\u00f3 a dar mucho dinero a las arcas del gobierno, y as\u00ed, se organiz\u00f3 el gremio de pastores, diferenciado del gremio de los agricultores, tambi\u00e9n perteneciente al mundo rural\u00bb. Mayor continu\u00f3 su exposici\u00f3n explicando como los factores clim\u00e1ticos fueron claves para que surgiera la trashumancia, \u00ablo que dio origen a los caminos o ca\u00f1adas reales\u00bb. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\nSeg\u00fan el catedr\u00e1tico de la Universidad de Oviedo, Campomanes ya relat\u00f3, en el siglo XIX, el problema que estaba apareciendo en torno a la trashumancia, ya que \u00ablos ingleses crearon una industria textil que margin\u00f3 el negocio espa\u00f1ol de la lana<\/strong>, y adem\u00e1s, las desamortizaciones tambi\u00e9n da\u00f1aron este sistema ya que muchas tierras fueron donadas a los campesinos que comenzaron a cultivarlas, impidiendo as\u00ed el pasto de las ovejas\u00bb. Mayor L\u00f3pez cerr\u00f3 su intervenci\u00f3n afirmando que \u00abel presente del pastoreo es muy malo, y el futuro peor\u00bb.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

After that narrated the past history of high mountain pastures relating it to the dry summer. The professor said that \u00abthe rise of grazing took place in the sixth century in Spain, when he entered the race known as merino sheep\u00bb and added that \u00abthe wool of these sheep, excellent quality, soon began to give much money to government coffers, and so the guild was organized pastors, differentiated from the farmers’ union, also belonging to the rural world. \u00abMayor continued his presentation explaining how climatic factors were key to the emergence of transhumance, \u00abwhat led to the roads or real canyons.\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n
