Alphey y sus colegas, tras las pruebas en laboratorio, liberaron 20.000 mosquitos machos transg\u00e9nicos en una zona de 10 hect\u00e1reas (<\/strong>465 machos por hectarea cada semana) en Gran Caim\u00e1n durante cuatro semanas y comprobaron que esos insectos modificados eran capaces de fertilizar a las hembras naturales. Pero los descendientes nacidos en libertad de los machos transg\u00e9nicos, sin acceso a la tetraciclina, no alcanzan la madurez<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
