La sustentabilidad est\u00e1 \u00edntimamente relacionada con la presi\u00f3n que ejercemos sobre el medio natural que nos rodea<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Las ciudades son algo m\u00e1s que estructuras de piedra y hormig\u00f3n<\/strong>; son adem\u00e1s, inmensos procesadores de alimentos, combustible y de todas las materias primas que nutren a la civilizaci\u00f3n. Son enormes organismos de metabolismo complejo<\/strong> sin precedentes en la naturaleza; son de naturaleza artificial, ya que concentran (en un \u00e1rea peque\u00f1a) cantidades de alimentos, agua <\/strong>y materiales que son mucho mayores de lo que la naturaleza es capaz de proveer; consecuentemente, el consumo de estos recursos genera enormes cantidades de basura y agua residual<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
