La fractura hidr\u00e1ulica (com\u00fanmente conocida en ingl\u00e9s como hydraulic fracturing<\/em> o fracking<\/em>)es una t\u00e9cnica para posibilitar o aumentar la extracci\u00f3n de gas<\/a> y petr\u00f3leo<\/a> del subsuel<\/strong>o. El procedimiento consiste en la inyecci\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n de alg\u00fan material en el terreno, con el objetivo de ampliar las fracturas existentes en el sustrato rocoso que encierra el gas o el petr\u00f3leo, y favoreciendo as\u00ed su salida hacia el exterior. Habitualmente el material inyectado es agua con arena, aunque ocasionalmente se pueden emplear espumas o gases<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
